The BSA (Blaauwberg Spatial Association) held their AGM last month. GTAF has concerns about this process. Along with other residents’ organisations have voiced their opinion to the BSA about these concerns.

One of our main concerns is if this process can really claim to be community driven. Leading to concerns if the final proposal is a true reflection of community opinions.

The proposals for Erf 1117 would see this area alone introduce nearly 15,000 people and we would estimate a further 5,000 vehicles if 1.25 vehicles are permitted per dwelling unit. Into our area. With around 20% of the housing being set aside for social housing.

I am against the BSA proposals

I do not agree that the Blouberg Spatial Association has adhered to the requirements of the City of Cape Towns Community-Driven Planning Initiative. They have failed to engage with community members and community organizations from surrounding communities. They have failed to properly engage with our ward committees. They do not represent the greater community. I do not agree with their proposal.
