GTAF has attempted to engage with the BSA and the City to extend the period for comment on the latest LSDF. The BSA has decided to ignore our request and send this document to the City for approval. We believe this document is poorly written, does not comply with City Policy and makes claims that simply will not work. We also believe that the document has not considered environmental value of Erf 1117 and the size of the wetlands on this land. We do not agree that the BSA has adhered to the requirements of the City of Cape Towns Community-Driven Planning Initiative and that they have failed to engage with community members and community organizations from surrounding communities. They have failed to properly engage with our ward committees. We do not believe they have community backing and they only represent a very small part of our community.
